Took 10.15 has to Malahide & went across ferry to The island & here collected in three areas till rain from NE. at 4.30 stopped collecting for the day, while drizzle at 2 hindered it for an hour & throughout the day the vegetation was never quite dry & with the chilly east wind made sweeping very difficult. The Island, Co. Dublin. 1 = dunes from ferry along flat N & W of Tern colony to 1/2 mile N. of this & on sheltered side of outer dunes. 1 till 12.45 2 = same but further N. & after lunch. 1.15 to 2.0. 3 = W. edge of peninsula along the estuary 2.30 till 4.0 when rain stopped collecting. 262. 6.7.44, cont.
