31st July 1946. 

A poor afternoon, strong SW-W breeze, cool; with skiffs of rain, after a fine
night & forenoon.

In afternoon drove to Blessington & then towards Ballyward Bridge on R. Liffey & home.  Collected by sweeping in 3 places: - 

All Co. Wicklow & alt. ca. 600 ft.
1 = Swampy field below road S. of the rectory, Blessington & 100 yards above edge of new reservoir & just E. of old road to old Blessington Bridge (now under water).
2 = steep slope between road & river, under trees 3/4 mile below Ballyward Bridge & just within area of new reservoir, in townland of Three Castles.
3 = Edge of reservoir at 2;  much Phragmites, rushes, sedges & Rumex, a few hundred yards below where river enters the reservoir.

Cryptinids 11, including a very minute ♂︎ of Hemiteles cf. aperta (not mtd.) which is less than 2mm. in length:  only 2 mtd. = 
Stylocryptus (Glyphicnemis) profligator  ♂︎, ant. 28.
S. (G.) clypealis  ♂︎, clypeus, front coxae, whitish;  ant. 27.
Mesoleius sp.  1♂︎, ant. 35, yellow scutellum, &c.
Homocidus obscuripes  ♂︎: not mtd.
Campoplegid ♀︎, looks interesting = Dioctes? sp.? (not exareolatus!) ♀︎, ant. 27.
