Gen. et sp.? ♀︎, ant. 31, propodeum rugulose, matt, not areolate! = Apanteles xanthostigmus ♀︎. Aspilota fuscescens? ♂︎, large, ant. 24. A. fuscescens? ♀︎, small & pale, ant. 17. Dacnusa longiradialis ♂︎: not mtd. D. maculipes ♀︎: not mtd. D. bellina ♀︎, ant. 25. D. bellina var.? 1♀︎, ant. only 22; antennae not yellow at base & clypeus not yellow = umbrellina miki: see Nixon 1937, p.56! D. temula Hal. 1♀︎, ant. 24. Coelinius rufipes m. 1 very nice ♂︎, all red femora; ant. 44. (= ? stenostigma Thom.) Aphidius sp. ♂︎: not mtd. Dipteron 1 = Sargus sp. Mesites tardyi taken in Killarney Fern case. Originally from Powerscourt, Co. WI. many years before. A.W.S. 27.6.48. Owing to bad weather, &c., I did no collecting till well into July! On 4 July 1948 in garden during hot sunburst many ♂︎♂︎ of Homocidus nigritarsis at Laburnum, &c., & one ♀︎ Polysphincta tuberosa taken with sucker. 53. 5th July 1948. Seven specimens of Hymenoptera taken by E. O'Mahony in warehouse near Store Street, at the Dublin docks: see p.91 -> 8th July 1948. A cold windy day, with hot sunbursts; wind northerly & strong; after several dull days with some drizzle. Not an insect day & few small hymenoptera obtainable. Thursday. In afternoon drove to Leixlip (Louisa Bridge) & arrived there 3.30 P.M., swept till 5 P.M. by the Rye Water (right bank) & on slope above same but very draughty & little out. No sign of Coelinius collaris miki, both sexes of which taken here on 5.7.1942. Had cup of afternoon tea at 5 P.M. & then drove on to 13th lock = Deey Lock, 1 mile W. of Louisa Bridge & swept tow path &c. between lock & Collinstown House & also plantation by canal, but very little out except "flies" in spite of shelter & hot sun. Saw only two cleggs all afternoon, though this should be the height of their season. Left for home about 6.15 & reached home 6.50. 1 = By the Rye Water, KD. 2 = W. of Louisa Bridge, Royal Canal, KD.
