28th August 1948.

In afternoon (Saturday) drove to Brittas Ponds, Co. DU., & walked up to top of the Brittas overflow channel between Slieve Thoule & Cromwellstown Hill (Daisy, I & Horace E. Green of Liverpool who had arrived on 27th to stay for a week & whom we had met at Ben Lawers, Perthshire, in June 1947).  Swept for ten minutes in lee of thorn hedge in pasture field at 1150 ft. alt. & insects taken here labelled "1150 ft. S. of Slieve Thoule".
