23rd June 1950 (Friday).

The first dry day since 18th! All the others being showery - at least in the afternoon.

Drove in the afternoon to Ballymakaily Bridge on Grand Canal, Co. DU, & walked up Canal to Gollierstown Bridge - 3.0 till 5.30 P.M. Collected by sweeping along side of canal from lock at bridge to Gollierstown - here & there - & around the three ponds S. of canal & W. of Gollierstown Bridge, but very few Hymenoptera met with though conditions seemed perfect & Diptera as abundant as usual.

[28 mtd. & these labelled on 6.12.1960 & some at first labelled "23.6.60" but corrected to 1950 AWS.]

Scarcely any Bumble Bees seen, but a very dark ♀︎ Psithyrus campestris √ taken in swamp N. of canal.
