30th Sept. 1951. The last day the car taxed for season! A dry day, but entirely dull and with rather strong SE-S. wind. In afternoon drove via Naas almost into Kilcullen, where turned east via Newberry to Harristown, then south acorn. R. Liffey to Brannockstown, then east again to Poulaphuca & so home via Blessington. Stopped at Newberry for an hour & collected by sweeping in cut-down shelter-belt S. of road & on [[?]] of Ledge full of ash, &c, along east side of large stubble field, where the oats just recently cut & stooked : 3.30 - 4.30 P.M.
