22nd May 1952.

A lovely day, all sunny after a misty morning & heavy dew. In afternoon drove to Newport House, Donabate to spend afternoon with Mrs. Zoë Hall & see her garden, which is very extensive, beautifully kept & full of interesting plants - many native. After leaving her we stopped near head of Swords estuary & I collected by sweeping salt marsh & sea grass (above H.W.M.) for an hour & then home via the Hudsons at Hampsted. In the salt marsh much Cochlearia & Atriplex portulacoides in lower zone (i.e. subject to extreme high tide overflowing!) & above that Beta & various grasses, & only a few other plants.
