22nd July '53. 

A showery day, but considerable fine periods & some sun at times.

Went by 12 noon bus to Killin & returned by 5:30 bus to Lawers.  Collected in three areas as follows:-

1. = under the limes from 12-30 till 1.10 P.M. & again from 4.30 till 5.30 P.M.
2. = Between road & railway, & along roadside, E. of the limes; where much Salix, Alder & Birch, with Carex vesicaria, &.  1.30-3.30 P.M.
3 = Marshy field & around the pond S. of the railway; but the Glyceria bed in which I formerly got some good things completely eaten down by cattle.  3.30-4.30 P.M.

A. cf. fuscescens? or picticornis?  1♂︎, ant. 19;  spiracles of tergite 1 very thorn-like!
