After three days wild weather & much rain, with S.W. gale. Wind down to moderate & much sun in afternoon. In afternoon Daisy & I drove to Brittas Ponds & walked up lane to Lynch Park where I tried sweeping in stubble & along edge of turnips & clover strips = 1; later came down W. side of the Slade of Saggart & swept under beech trees near top of glen & near road, where found Icks, &c., very abundant = 2.

Very few taken at 1 - no doubt owing to recent bad weather. Saw two butterflies - 1 certainy a Speckled Wood - & quite a few Bumble Bees, including a faded ♂︎ Bombus muscorum & a somewhat faded ♀︎ B. terrestris.
