slaves who still remain on the farm, there has been some disaffection at seeing those I have secretly employed brought down, and I think it arises from the cause I have mentioned above.

If on further Trial with these hands we think they can be relied on, I shall want to procure more of them and shall visit your camps for that purpose, otherwise I prefer to have no more of them on hand.  In the mean time I shall be glad to receive any suggestions from you which will aid me in controlling them and rendering them more to be relied on.
