Colonel,

I have the honor to request that after reading this statement, you will cause it to be sent to such officer as may be the proper recipient of it.  I confess I do not know through what channel or to what destination, it should properly pass, from a subordinate officer of your Bureau.

On the 16th inst. Capt. A.M. Garoutte, pursuant to previous notice made sales of Govt. Property at this place.  Mr. J.A. Pemberton, a highly respectable gentleman of this place, purchased at auction one of three, six-mule teams with wagons, harness &c that were sold.

He bid off the team, wagon & harness, at 550.00
He bid off six wagon whips at 6.60
He bid off six axes & handles at 6.60
He bid off a bay horse at 85.00
He bid off 30 setts harness at 153.50
He bid off One mule at 100.00
