in the way and I had to tie it down. I think I got a good one.

In maine's woods I saw a male Towhee.  It acted much like a Catbird.  It was tame.  Saw a number of Quail.  Tried to get a picture of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet but did not.

Then I went home.

Saw 2 Juncoes.

April 28, Sunday.
This morning when I got up I heard a Rose-breasted grosbeak sing.  The song was sweet and very varied.

It excelled any that I have heard before.  It was full of pure toned turns and quivers.
Went down in the fields. In Maines woods I saw 3 Brown Thrashers Two were males.  One male was courting.  He flew around calling [[underlined]] Kwut Kwit [[/underline]] The female followed and did not let him rest. They did not fly more than ordinarily fast. He sang a few notes occasionally. They would lit on the ground and hop and then [[keep?]] working [[?harder or higher]]
