46 and spotted with rufous. The other nests contained 5 eggs each. One was set in the side of a tussock of grass and the other under a stick in a thick clump of Tag alders. None of the owners were much alarmed. They slipped off the nests and [[underlined]]ran[[/underlined]] along the ground like mice for a few feet and then flew away. Then I went home. [[line]] May 9, Thursday. This evening after school I found a Phoebe's nest under the eaves of Dockhams [[end page]] [[start page]] 47 barn. It contained 3 eggs. Heard the Wren singing and looked for its nest but did not find it. Went down by Seeley's. Heard a number of Indigo Buntings singing Saw the Green Heron in the marsh. It squatted down to hide. After a while It flew up and circled around several times and then flew west. It flew with indrawn neck and extended feet. Saw a Sora in the marsh as it went across an open place. Then I went home.
