This morning we rowed [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] up to Skavlem's Point and Mr. Skavlem showed us his birds among which was a buff-breasted sandpiper shot on the lake. Afterwards we had dinner with him.

We went down in a large marsh after birds. On the way over a female lesser scaup Duck swam out of the reeds a short distance off and I shot it. It was making for open water as were three others seen at the same time. They were probably crippled from the spring shooting and did not
