In Seeley's marsh I shot a Short-billed Marsh Wren but saw no Rails. There were a number of Swamp Sparrows here and I shot a fine one.
By Knoop's I was after a White-throated Sparrow which was dodging along a brushy fence when another bird flew up from an elder-bush and lighting in a tree began to wipe its bill. I thought I heard a purple Finch some where and on spotting the bird found it was one. If it gave the notes they were given very low.
In the afternoon I went over to the Millpond and saw a Pied-billed Grebe. As soon as I approached it dove and would only come up when I was out of range. After watching it awhile I shot some Warblers which were hunting through the trees.
In Dickies Marsh I saw my only Myrtle Warbler's. They were probably drawn by the water.
