A few of these birds show up around the clearing from time to time. Not very interesting The usual tanager TF's and WF's. Quite a lot of CN's, rather nasal "Wali"

They definitely do not associate with the other tanagers of the "blue and green" type (i.e. Tangara & Theaupis)

Have got a male from Mrs Marciag. Banded right red.

Watched it today, in travelling cage, paying particular attention to TF's and associated patterns.

The bird was quite alarmed most of the time and did a great many TF's. Extremely variable. Eventually lateral, and quite exaggerated. Many of the TF's had a vertical component, and this was the most variable of all the components. Some were definitely D-U, but most I think were more U-D. Some quite complicated, almost rotary e.g. D-U-D or U-D-U. I think that the most common form was like this [[image]] more or less. The vertical component may have been greatly affected by the angle of the tail (i.e. the degree of elevation),
