edge stream ravine. I can see that it is small and dark.

[] Nocti []
I am quite certain, in my own mind, that this is Nocti.

Road here is 7525 ft. And the bird was singing about 100 yds uphill (perhaps 50 ft higher in actual elevation).

Certainly was quite alone while singing.

See a single Sooty Thrush alone. Then another

Weather is clear and calm, so far

6:00 am. Walking further up road. Hear still more Whitestart CXXVII Song. All NODWAH. Several individuals singing. Sometimes completely overlapping one another.

6:06. 7690 ft. See 2 Cheek Atlapetes ✓✓38 in bamboo scrub edge USTF ravine. 1-3 ft up. Very noisy. Loud, hoarse, "Greeting" Twitters. But definitely alone.

[] Scan? []
6:14. Hear single-note hummingbird Song down hill. Too far away to determine if it is Scan or not. In any case, it is NODWAH. Stops. Whitestart CXXVII Sings one phrase. NODWAH. Stops. Hummer starts again. NODWAH. Stops. Whitestart Sings again. NODWAH. Stops. Hummer again. NODWAH. Stops.

This mutual inhibition is working.

Hummer involved may well be XX. Song sounds like some heard directly above station.

Starting back down road 6:25 am.

Everything quiet now. Except for some more Whitestart CXXVII Song. NODWAH.

6:35. Rock slide above the flock area. Mixed low ve
