Mixed Diglossini, Aug. 17, 1967, IV

silent and unritualized.

More CXXVII Song downhill. NODWAH. Stops.

[] Nocti []
COMMENT: Noctis do seem to be very aggressive. Even now when, presumably, it is not full breeding season.

Sun beginning to reach this area 6:35am.

[] Albi Scan []
Hear some Albi R's, NODWAH. Stop. Then hear Scan Song just down hill. NODWAH. Then one more Albi R. Completely overlapped. Albi stops. Scan continues.
NOTE: So possibly it was Scan and not Thalass that was attacked by Nocti.

[] [[strikethrough]] Nocti [[/strikethrough]] Scan []
6:40. Hear what sound like Nocti R-"Zaza" patterns uphill. Also completely overlapped by Scan Song.

[] Scan []
Then some more Whitestart CXXVII Song, completely overlapped by Scan.

CORRECTION: The presumed Nocti R-"Zaza"s heard a few minutes ago probably were uttered by flycatchers in USTF.

[] Albi Nocti []
6:48 am. Back to first Nocti area. See single ♂ Albi✓95 flitting thru Nocti territory(ies). Silent. Alone. Apparently looking for insects on leaves. The Albi covers at least 3/4 of the usual Nocti area(s)! Neither Nocti visible at the time. But then I suddenly see a Nocti✓96 in bush about 30 ft from the Albi. A second later, the Albi flies off and disappears. There is no chase.

7:02 a.m. Down road again. More CXXVII Song NODWAH. Stops.

7:09 Up by USTF ravine. Still more CXXVII Song. NODWAH. But again provokes something else to rattle.

[] Nocti []
7:13 First Nocti area. More abbreviated Nocti Songs
