Mixed Diglossinni, Sept. 24, 1962, VI (39)

[[margin]] Glor? [[/margin]]
still doing so today. Might be transcribed as "Zeezeetazee . . . tazee"

[[margin]] Glor [[/margin]
This bird seems to have very small humeral patches (or keeps them covered). It is also being remarkably active now, 8:57, looking for insects at a great rate. Also feeding on flowers occasionally. Also seems to be uttering a lot of R-eeyah patterns as it flies about, altho it seems to be quite alone.

[[margin]] Coers [[/margin]]
Well! Well! Well! A pair of what appears (from their general body color) to be Coers shows up 9:06 am. Pass rapidly over a wide area, both trees & shrubs. Quite far from where I saw the Coers yesterday, but quite close to where I saw the Cy today. One or both utters lots of songs. All preceded by plaintive, emphatic "[[underline]]Seeeee [[underline]]seeeee" Notes. Main body song phrases a very rapid and usually or always very long twittering phrase (i.e. like Cy--not like the presumed Coers heard near Teleferico #1) Each twitter ending with a descending "eeyah". Then one bird perches briefly in head low posture (pre-loco? I can't see it well. One bird immediately utters a typical song phrase (I [[underline]]thought it was the bird in the head low posture).
[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]]
The other bird immediately jumps onto the back of the head-low bird. Tries to cop. Cop. very brief. Probably unsuccessful. Both birds fly off immediately afterwards without display.

[[margin]] Glor [[/margin]]
A neighboring "Glor" was stimulated to utter a typical "Glor" song phrase, without R component, between song phrases of the Coers before the cop attempt.

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]]
This cop. attempt took place in a tree, in one of its lower branches, about 10-15 ft above the ground.

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]]
The Coers around here seem to be [[underline]]very mobile. Also [[underline]]very active.

[[margin]] Glor [[/margin]]
9:20 am. "Glor" with peculiar "interrupted" song singing [[again?]]
