Mixed Diglomini, Apr. 17, 1965, II

Whole area rather changed. There seems to have been some burning here. Lots of burning below

A fair amount of bird noises before 6:00 am. Hear Firebellies. Also Atlapetes (regular Song of a few clear & distinct whistles). Also a few phrases which may be Diglossine twitter.

[] Laf 54 []
Then hear and see Laf ✓. Perched exposed 6 ft above ground. Usual type song from usual postures. Also hear other Lafs singing in distance 5:58 am.

(The Diglossine twitters may be by an Atlapetes. The one that Lafs reacted to in 1962.)

[] Laf []
These Twitters not overlapping with Laf Songs. Twitters going strong 6:00 am. Lafs silent. Then Twitters stop. Then there is one brief burst Laf Song.

Everything much quieter by 6:05.

[] Laf []
6:07. A few more brief snatches Laf song.

[] Laf Cy Gen []
Obviously Laf resembles Cy in retaining some Song during non-breeding reason (carbonaria s.l. may have lost Song during the non-breeding season "because" it has R-Zaza patterns.)

One of the Atlapetes is continuing Songs of a few discrete Whistles 6:12. Everything else almost silent.

Fog starting to come in 6:13

[] Humer? []
6:17 Hear what may be Humer R pattern in distance.

[] Laf []
6:22 Only two types of song continuing. Atlapetes Whistle Song (No more Twitters now.) And occasional bursts of Laf Song. And these two types of songs do not usually overlap. I.E. Laf is "reluctant" to overlap anything

[] 55 []
6:24 Single Firebelly ✓✓ flies by. Alone
