126 Mixed Diglossini, Aug. 25, 1965, VII young. I.E. the "courtship phase" of the breeding cycle probably is over. [] Bari [] Now there seem to be 3 Baris in adjacent conifer. Silent and alone. Can't see them very well. [] Bari [] Then see female or juv. Bari feeding in a different Yellow Abu. Quite silent. Certainly alone. No Scans nearby. [] Bari [] There are a lot of Baris around here! (Population at this particular site certainly is larger than a couple of months ago.) [] Humer [] Apparently no Humers here either. It certainly would appear that Humers and Baris separate at times — presumably during the breeding season. [] Scan [] Scans still Singing in adjacent trees 8:57. Aside from that, everything very quiet. [] Scan [] All the Colibri here certainly are Scans too. thalassinus must be thoroughly sub tropical!! [] Bari Scan [] Female or juv. Baris still feeding on flowers in various Yellow Abus from time to time. Without, apparently, being bothered by occasional Scan passing by. [] Humer Scan Bari [] It seems very unlikely that the Humers could have been "driven out" by Scans — in view of the fact that the weaker Baris have managed to maintain themselves quite well. [] Albi [] Apparently Albis here simply do not make use of gardens (Actually, Albi seems to have a relatively restricted ecology. Presumably relatively stereotyped in its reactions.) Leaving 9:05 am. [] Bari [] NOTE: I am not sure that my descriptions of Bari Songs in the preceding pages are really very clear. Their Songs actually are very undistinguished Twitters. Like Cy Songs without distinctive
