[[margin]] Ater Scan [[/margin]] Oh dear! 8:17 am. See single Ater^[[two check marks]] Perched top tall tree in ravine. Silent. Doing lots of [[Flailing?]] and irregular Bowing. Alone. Then Scan ([[underlined]] definite [[/underlined]] flies by. Hovers over head of Ater. About 1-2 ft above Ater. [[underlined]] Obviously inhibited attack [[/underlined]]! Ater does not retreat. Then Scan perches about 6 ft from Ater. Just looks at Ater. [[margin]] Cinn [[/margin]] Both birds apparently silent. [[underlined]] Then Cinn appears, [[walies?]] inhibited Swoop at Scan [[/underlined]]!!! Scan flies off. Then Cinn perches also about 6ft from Ater (but not on same perch previously used by Scan). [[margin]] Ater Cinn [[/margin]] [[underlined]] Cinn and Ater apparently ignore one another. [[/underlined]] Then Cinn flies off. Ater does not follow. Then Scan comes back to lower part of tree, 8-12 ft from Ater. Ater flies off. But [[underlined]] probably [[/underlined]] not in response to Scan. During all this time, there was a small partly green [[female symbol]] or juv hummingbird in same tree. [[underlined]] It was ignored by Ater, Scan, and Cinn [[/underlined]] [[margin]] Scan Ater Cinn [[/margin]] 8:28 More Scan lelie Song in distance. NODWAH. 8:30 Watching same tree. Ater back same place. Little greenish hummer feeding 4-6 ft away. No overt reaction between the 2 [[mds?]]. Then Cinn lands in tree. 4 ft from Ater, 8 ft from other hummer. No overt reaction. [[underlined]] This develops into a very long encounter. [[/underlined]] The two birds continue hopping thru bushes and trees for at least 10 minutes. Sometimes very close together Sometimes 6-10 ft apart. And at one time, a [[underlined]] third [[/underlined]] bird joins them. [[underlined]] All obviously very excited [[/underlined]]. Constant exaggerated Wing-fliching and Tail fliching, and extreme but irregular Bowing and Pivoting. This
