Mixed Diglossini, Mar 15, 1966, VI. [[circled]] 42 [[/circled]]

[[underlined]]they are visited by the Cy.[[/underlined]]

[[margin]] Cy Scan [[/margin]] Both Cy and Scan shut up 8:57. Then I hear one phrase Whitestart Song. NODWAH. Then more Cy Song. NODWAH. Shuts up. Then Scans start again. Cy Sings another phrase. Complete overlap. Cy shuts up. Whitestart Sings again. Completely overlapped by Scan. Again.

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] See Whitestart [[2 checkmarks above Whitestart]] fly into Eucalypt. There [[underlined]] is [[/underlined]] a Scan in tree at the time. [[underlined]] Does Flight Display as Whitestart comes in [[/underlined]]. But then returns to same tree. Lands about 20 ft from Whitestart. No obvious reaction between the 2 birds. Whitestart Sings. NODWAH except
[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] for Scan Songs (in other trees). At approximately same time Whitestart begins to Sing, Scan in same tree "disappears". Presumably gone
[[margin]] Cy [[/margin]] to another tree. Then Whitestart flies off. A second later [[underlined]] hear [[/underlined]] Cy Song from same tree!!! NODWAH except for Scan Song in other trees.

[[margin]] Cy Scan [[/margin]] Perhaps Cy, Scan, [[underlined]] and [[/underlined]] Whitestart are [[underlined]] all [[/underlined]] avoiding each other in trees! At least when Singing!!!

[[margin]] Scan Cy [[/margin]] 9:23. Hear more [[underlined]] torquatus [[/underlined]] Song. NODWAH except Scan. Then Cy utters phrase in distance. Cy Song overlaps [[underlined]] torquatus [[/underlined]] Song slightly. Then [[underlined]] torquatus [[/underlined]] shuts up. Cy continues. NODWAH except Scan. Shuts up.

[[margin]] Ater [[/margin]] 9:31. Hear some Ater Songs. NODWAH except Scan.

[[margin]] Ater [[/margin]] Then see a couple of Aters fly by. Silent and alone.

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] Leaving 9:40. Scans still Singing in distance.

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] NOTE. I have tried very hard to make sure of the specific identity of the "Scans" here. Unfortunately, color of underparts is difficult to see from below. But at least one ind. certainly [[underlined]] looked [[/underlined]] dark along center of underparts. So presumably [[underlined]] coruscans [[/underlined]]. And I am sure that there is
