Mixed Diglossini, Mar. 17, 1966, II [[circled]] 49 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Gen [[/margin]] I am becoming more and more convinced that I am right in thinking that inter-specific hostility among Diglossini is negatively correlated with size of region inhabited.

[[margin]] Ater [[/margin]] Another thought has just struck me. Is the comparative rarity of display postures and movements among Aters here positively correlated with, and [[underlined]] causally [[/underlined]] related to, the extreme stereotypy and specialization (i.e. "perfection") of their inter-specific relations?????? [[margin]] Gen [[/margin]] I.E. do such forms as Brun and Carbo have more elaborate visual displays because they have to display more often to inds. of other species?????? [[margin]] [[underlined]] carbonaria [[/underlined]] [[/margin]] Or do such forms as Brun and Carbo have to be more "careful" to maintain reproductive isolation????????????
