Mixed Diglossini, Mar. 21, 1966, II [[circled]] 60 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Albi Laf Cy [[/margin]] and Whitestarts (and presumably also Lafs and Cys)

March 22, 1966
Atacaso

Going to work same area again this morning Arrive site above territory of presumed second Albi 5:57 am. Just starting to get light. Heavy cloud cover but no rain.

[[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] Singing 5:59 am. NODWAH. Stops

Dawn Chorus in general is rather slight 6:01.

6:03. DC starts. Region bamboo scrub. Presumably [[underlined]] atropileus [[/underlined]]

Then some Whitestart Song downhill. NODWAH. Stops.

There are [[underlined]] lots [[/underlined]] of [[underlined]] B. nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] Rfl's here. It probably is the dominant species.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] 6:08. Hear some Albi-type R's uphill. NODWAH. Stops. Whitestart Sings. NODWAH. Stops. More R's. NODWAH. Stop. More Whitestart Songs. NODWAH. Stop. More R. NODWAH. Stop. [[underlined]] This alternation was perfect [[/underlined]] !!! And both R's and Whitestart Songs overlapped [[underlined]] nigrocristatus [[/underlined]] Rfl's apparently at random!

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] R's came from region of thick but apparently second growth scrub. Quite far from area of presumed second Albi. Probably a third ind.

6:12. More [[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] Songs. NODWAH. Then Whitestart Sings again Whitestart and [[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] Songs completely overlapping!!! Then Whitestart shuts up.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] [[underlined]] rufinucha [[/underlined]] continues. Then R's start again. At first [[underlined]] alternate beautifully. [[/underlined]] 1R - 1 Whistle Song - 1R - 1 Whistle Song ........ Then this breaks down. Songs of the 2 species overlap apparently at random. The R's stop.
