Mixed Diglossini, Mar. 22, 1966, II.
[[circled]] 61 [[/circled]]

[[underline]] rufinucha [[/underline]] continues. Whitestart Sings. [[underline]] Complete [[/underline]] overlap. Whitestart shuts up.

[[margin]] Gen [[/margin]]
COMMENT: Natural Song inhibition is not [[underline]] consistent [[/underline]] when [[underlined]] rufinicha [[/underlined]] is involved!!!

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] NOTE: The bird uttering R's was completely invisible. But it was moving thru scrub in typically rapid Diglossa manner. (And sure by a fly catcher would have been visible in there circumstances?)

6:23. [[underlined]] rufinicha [[/underlined]] shuts up. Whitestart Sings. NODWAH. Stops.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] NOTE: One of the reasons why Albis may be so hard to see here is that there are [[underlined]] few [[/underlined]] flowers here now.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] 6:35. Near more Albi type R's. In second growth scrub across road from where R's heard earlier. Again NODWAH. Stop. A few minutes later, there are more Whitestart Songs. NODWAH. Stop.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]] 6:49. Aha! Area of presumed second Albi. ^[[4 checkmarks]] [[underlined]] See Albi [[female sign]] uttering R's! Identification definite. [[/underlined]] Perched exposed 4 ft up mixed bamboo scrub. Then flies across road into denser AS type scrub (where R's were first heard yesterday). Albi lost to uglet at this point. But I see that there are ^[[5 checkmarks]] 2 or 3 [[underlined Uroniyias [[/underlined]] in this AS type scrub. Also ^[[4 checkmarks]] 2 Whitestarts. Whitestarts Sing from time to time. NODWAH. (NOTE: the earlier R's by Albi [[female sign]] also were NODWAH.) There [[underlined]] Uroniyias [[/underlined]] and Whitestarts are "outliers" or "forerunners" of a large mixed flock moving up hill. Flock also includes ^[[4 checkmarks]] 2 or 3 [[underlined]] U. atropileus [[/underlined]], ^[[2 checkmarks]] 1 [[underlined]] Basileuterus [[/underlined]] (apparently [[underlined]] coronatus [[/underlined]]!), ^[[2 checkmarks]] 1 Woodpecker CI (probably [[female sign]] - probably has some red on crown), ^[[2 checkmarks]] 1 Firebelly, and ^[[2 checkmarks]] 1 [[underlined]] Green & White Hummingbird [[/underlined]] (same species [[margin] XI Sitti [[/margin]] as in Western Cordillera Colombia)!!! Also ^[[2 checkmarks]] 1 or 2 [[underlined]] Sittis [[/underlined]]!!!

All birds moving thru great variety small trees and scrub. Probably all ranging 2-6 ft up.

Group as a whole quite coherent. Actual lead probably changing
