Mixed Diglossini, Mar. 22, 1966, V [[circle]] 64 [[/circle]]

I am sure that the species is [[underlined]] P. gigas [[/underlined]] - it has whitish rump. In any case,
I will call it [[underlined]] Patagona [[/underlined]] for the time being.)
Individual still resting absolutely still 4:12 pm. Then finally flies off when I get closer.
Then go on up hill a little bit, to another Agave. Another [[underlined]] Patagona [[/underlined]] flies off as I approach. Then comes back. Just sits quietly. Then feeds on flowers. Then flies away.
Then a tiny green humming bird feeds on Agave flowers very briefly Flies away.
4:22. See male [[underlined]] Th. Bonariensis [[/underlined]]. Silent. Alone. Perched 2 ft up on Agave leaf.
[[underlined]] Patagona [[/underlined]] back to Agave 4:28. Feeds. Then sits quietly.
Leaving 4:40 pm
NOTE: I see that Chapman records Bari from many places I have visited, i.e. Papallacta, Tumbaco, Pichincha, Lloa. The fact that I have never seen it at any of these places means that it must be [[underlined]] very [[/underlined]] rare. Why? Competition with Ater????
[[margin]] Bari ater [[/margin]]

Atacaso
Going to work same area again today (i.e. "9000-8750 ft level"). Arrive 5:57 am. Clear. Realatively cool. Getting light.
NOTE: The car is parked just above the second Albe territory. And this is [[underlined]] 9200 ft [[/underlined]] according to my altimeter now!
6:01. Lots of DC. Jaho hear R's by at least 2 different Albis. R's NODWAH. But completely overlapped by DC.
Then R's stop. DC continues. Completely overlapping. [[underlined]] B. ni [[/underlined]]
