Mixed Diglossini, Feb. 12, 1964, VIII
[[circled]] 25 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]] Come to "Coer" tree and hear metallic "feeet"s in neighborhood. Brun ^[[checkmark above Brun]] singing nearby. Then "Coer" flies into tree. Eats fruit (swallowing whole).
Utters lots of metallic "feeet"s while doing so. Notice that it is a "chunkier" bird than Cy Then flies off. Can hear more metallic "feeet"s in scrub in distance.

[[margin]] Brun [[/margin]] Going on uphill, there are Bruns singing all the way

At 9000 ft level, hear lots of "Coer" like songs.

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]] "Zeee tazeee zeeoommmm" [[the mmm descend on page]]

"Tazee tazee zeeoommmmm" [[mmmm descend on page]]

"Zeee tazee tazeeoommmmm" [[mmm descend on page]]

"Zeeee tazeee"

All sound quite like "Coer" down below. Don't see bird while actually
singing, but catch glimpse blue ("Coer" blue) bird flying away from
where song came from. This is almost same spot where the pair of "Coer"s was new yesterday

[[margin]] [[checkmark]] [[/margin]] 9:55. See single conebill-like ^[[checkmark above conebill]] warbler, presumably Basilenterus.
LXI. Feeding in low scrub with [[checkmark]] Elaenia ^[[checkmark above Elaenia]] (small). Then moves off while Elaenia stays behind

[[margin]] Brun [[/margin]] Catch a brief glimpse of what may be a Brun,^[[checkmark above Brun]] alone, in flight

[[margin]] Brun [[/margin]] Then see a single Brun in tree alone

[[margi]] Coer [[/margin]] I am beginning to think that there are only "Coer"s & Bruns at this high
level!

[[margin]] Brun [[/margin]] Starting downhill 10:12 a m.

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]] Perhaps the reason that only Bruns and "Coers" occur at the 9000 ft level here is that the vegetation at that level is too thick for the other
