Mixed Diglossini, Jun 14, 1966, III [[circled]] 41 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Ater (Brun) [[/margin]] NOTE: This Ater showed absolutely no trace of intergradation with Brun. Except, [[underlined]] possibly [[/underlined]], for a very small and faint trace of a humeral patch on [[underlined]] one [[/underlined]] side. But I [[underlined]] think [[/underlined]] that such traces occur on individual Aters in pops. far away from both Brun and Humer.

Then go [[underlined]] way [[/underlined]] up hill. Finally reach area that looks like impoverished Paramo de Guasca.

[[margin]] [[underlined]] Corbonaria [[/underlined]] [[/margin]] 4:28 p.m. 9410 ft. Hear [[underlined]] carbonaria [[/underlined]] s.l. Song Twitters up hill. NODWAH. (NOTE: This certainly is area where one would expect to find Brun — if it does occur in this region.) All these phrases are particularly rapid and short. Is this characteristic of Brun???

More songs same type 4:46. Also NODWAH

Starting downhill 5:00 p.m.

Reach lower area where I have worked before 5:20 p.m.

Stopping observation 6:05 p.m.

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] Scans still Singing, NODWAH, as I leave!

This morning, going to try to get up to the higher altitudes, reached yesterday afternoon. There is heavy fog around town and everywhere 5:00 a.m. So I postpone my departure. But fog seems to be lifting a little 5:20 a.m.

Reach bottom level Guasca-like vegetation, 9300 ft, 6:10 a.m. Partly cloudy. Occasional patches fog. Visibility not good yet. Cool. Windy
