Attention:

"By the first article of the Treaty of March 12, 1858, proclaimed April 11,  1859 (12 Stat. 997) the Ponca tribe of Indians ceded and relinquished to the United States all the lands then owned or claimed by them, wherever situated, except the tract bounded as follows, viz: [beginning at a point on the Nebraska River and running due north, so as to intersect the Ponca river twenty-five miles from its mouth; thence from said point of intersection, up and along the Ponca river twenty miles; thence due South to the Niobrara River; thence down and along said river to the place of beginning.]

By the first article of the treaty of March 20, 1865, proclaimed March 28, 1867. (14 Stat. 645), the Ponca Indians ceded and relinquished to the United States all that portion of their reservation described in first article of the treaty of March 12, 1858, lying west of the range line between the townships numbers (32) thirty two and (33) thirty three north, ranges (10) ten and (11) eleven west of the (6) sixth principle meridian according to the Kansas and Nebraska survey, estimated to contain thirty thousand acres.

By the second article of said treaty, the United States, in consideration of the above cession, ceded and relinquished to the Ponca Indians the following
