Dear Lewis:

Before sailing for Europe, Mr. de Hauke told me that he had spoken to Mr. Wildenstein regarding the loan of your large cubist Picasso, "L'Italienne" for our forthcoming Picasso Exhibition next fall.

At the same time, you may or may not know that this particular exhibition will be one of a series of four extending from mid-October through Christmas, as follows:-

1. [[underlined]] Braque [[/underlined]] Oct. 17th to Nov. 4th

2. [[underlined]] Picasso [[/underlined]] Nov. 7th to 25th

3. [[underlined]] Juan Gris [[/underlined]] Nov. 21st to Dec. 10

4. [[underlined]] La Fresnaye [[/underlined]] Dec. 5th to 24th

As we are planning to publish a rather complete catalogue comprising all four exhibitions, and as I am very anxious to get the work on this started during the summer, would you be good enough to fill out the enclosed blank and return it to me at your earliest convenience.

In addition, I should like to have two glossy photographs, one of which I can send to the printer right away, so that the plate may be made up well in advance to avoid any last minute rush.

With many thanks in advance for your cooperation in this matter, and with all good wishes,

As ever -
Yours sincerely,

(Robert M. Levy)
