Flora Banadus 2. Flora Banatus refers to the Banat region - a historial region which is now in Romania, Serbia & Hungary. in rupibuscaleareis vallis [[?Razan]] ad Danubium inferioreus: gives reference to the Danube valley. The Danube bordered the southern part of the Banat region. In 1874 Borbas studied the Domogled Massif - see https://notulaebiologicae.ro/index.php/nsb/article/viewFile/9566/8681 This would make it Romania 2. Kazan, in the Iron Gates on the Danube N 44?40?00? E 22?18?00? (see Geonames). Romanian judet of Mehedinti 3. The locality reads: "in rupibus calcareis vallis Kaz? ad Danubium inferiorem", which I think means: "below calcareous cliffs in the Kaz? valley at the Danube". Where the Danube goes through the Kazan gorge, it forms the border between Romania and Serbia. Therefore, there's a chance this specimen was actually collected on the Serbian side of the river. Since Borbas was known to have collected in other areas within Romania, I've left the Country and Territory as earlier transcribers have entered it...but caution is probably warranted. -@mnathan
