Dear Germain,

I am very sorry to hear that you have to cancel your London trip. But since you don't feel well I am sure you are right to return to New York. We send you our best wishes for a speedy recovery. I am now going to Sotheby's and shall add a few lines from there after I have seen the Delacroix.

Please remember us to your wife.

Again our best wishes,
Herbert

P.S. The Delacroix is very good and attractive. It bears a label from [Mathieson ?] Gallery & gives the information which is printed in the catalogue. The paper is slightly yellowish, otherwise in very good condition (the drawing is framed and I had to examine it as it is) In my opinion the value is about £400.
