14th January 1964.

Mr. Germain Seligman,
5 East 57th Street,
New York 22, N.Y.,
U.S.A.

Dear Germain,

I thank you for your letter of the 10th January and also for your cheque for £225 for the Couture pastel which I hope has reached you by now. I am afraid there is no particular pedigree I can give you as I bought the drawing in the London trade. I understand from Messrs. Chenue that the consignment went charges forward, which was a mistake and I have credited you with £2.17.6. for packing, insurance and postage.

I also talked to Chenue's about the documents and they assured me that they sent Bemo Shipping Co. all the relevant papers at the same time.

I have today mailed you express the photograph of the painting by Beaubrun which I think is extremely good.

I hope you will be able to telephone me latest on Sunday night since we have more or less decided on our Swiss trip. I shall be away about a fortnight.

With best regards,
Yours sincerely,
