Mr. Germain Seligman,
5 East 57th Street,
New York 22, NY, USA

Dear Germain,

I thank you for your letters of the 13th and 21st January. With regard to the Salviati (January 28th) I ha[[strikethrough]]ve[[/strikethrough]]^[[de]] been promised a photograph, which ^[[,]] however, was not ready when I wanted to collect it yesterday. I now have to wait until Monday evening and have my doubts whether it will reach you in time. It is a nice drawing, not very fresh, valuation [[pound sterling symbol]]80. If you have any special reason for purchasing the drawing, of which I do not know, I do not think much can be lost if you spend a similar amount. On the other hand it is not an outstanding drawing.

About the Dalou you will hear in the course of next week.

I had a letter from Peter A Wick, Assistant Director of the Fogg Art Museum, who asked me whether I still had the drawing by Largillière of the sale on 1st December 1964. He asked whether the drawing is for sale; he is making a study of 17th century French drawings in preparation for an exhibition of French drawings at the Fogg Art Museum in 1966. I replied that you were the owner and that I would write to you. I only know Peter Wick as the Assistant Curator, Dept. of Drawings and Prints, at the Boston museum. Does this now mean that he has taken Dr. Jacob Rosenberg's place?

with best regards, I am,

Yours sincerely,
