[[underline]] RE: Sotheby: Impressionist & Modern Paintings, April 21. [[/underline]]

Dear Herbert;

In this auction are several paintings which attract me much, though I am afraid they will go considerably beyond the figures I am willing to pay for them. I would be much obliged to you were you, as usual, to convey your opinion as to their quality, condition and valuations.

# 2 BOUDIN La Mouliere a Villerville
# 4 FANTIN-LATOUT Chrysanthemes
# 6 FANTIN-LATOUR Vase de Pivoines
# 14 Gustave MOREAU Venus Sortant de l'Onde

A few minutes ago I received your good letter of March 31st, as well as the bill for the PILLEMENT drawing, and herewith I take pleasure in forwarding a check for 924 pounds in settlement.

In your letter you mentioned the price of Gns 9,500 for the [[underline]] PANNINI [[/underline]] but I gather it should read [[underline]] PIRANESI [[/underline]], which again must be a record price.

I hope that Chenue is rushing the shipment of the CANDLESTICKS and the two drawings. Would you be good enough to telephone them in this respect.

With kind thoughts,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
