April 11, 1972

Dear Herbert;

Not having received the cable you mentioned about the ANGRAND drawing, I assume you did not bid for it.
On the other hand I hope you duly received my letter (express) of April 7th, relating to the Gustave MOREAU and the James ENSOR.

I have just received an exhibition catalogue from Mrs. Stefanie Maison of Faerber & Maison Ltd., 36 New Bond Street. In it are several drawings which interest me, and I trust you will not mind calling on her. Should the following drawings appeal to you, ask her for prices.

I do not know whether it would help to tell her that it is for me, so that if I am further interested, she might be willing to reserve them until I can cable you my decision.

[[underlined]] Do ask her for the catalogue that she mailed, so that there will be no misunderstanding about the items. [[/underlined]]

#23, LHERMITTE, "Bretonne"

#25, MENZEL, "Head and Shoulder of a Young Woman"

#31, RIBOT, "A young woman looking down" - if it is not as dark as it looks in the reproduction.

Furthermore, should she have them, I would like to have [[underlined]] photographs [[/underlined]] of #21, Henri LEHMANN, "Study for the Frescoes of the Hotel de Ville" and #38, SCHUFFENECKER, "Odilon Redon Playing the Piano".

Thanking you in advance, for your kind help and with warm regards,

Yours,

Germain Seligman
