The number of specimens of birds distributed during the month is 628, of which 425 were sent to the Great International Fisheries Exhibition, in London, England, to illustrate the aquatic and fish-eating bird-fauna of North America. This collection includes 12 ornamental groups (containing 49 specimens), mounted specially for the occasion, besides 3 mounted birds on separate stands or pedestals. This collection, properly labeled with the modern nomenclature,
