[[short line]]

Ma Yuan , also named [[underlined in pencil]]Ching Shan [[/underline]] of the Ling Tsung period of the south Sung dynasty, a probationer of the Imperial Art Academy which had a extraordinary collection of human figures, flowers and birds. The present work was one of them depicting a grand Hall in which an old gentlman was holding a pen and writing besides a page attending who was getting the ink ready. Another gray -haired man was holding a set of artistic writings criticizing as he talks.

On the bridge a country gentleman was coming with cane in hand and on the mountain slopes prunes were just in blossom--and other other plants in abundant foliage-- all painted in the so-called broad hand style.
