Tues Aug 23. Spent the day packing, so [[paper torn, text lost]] & resorting, laundry, marketing for [[paper torn, text lost]] dinner: a huge steak, zucchini in tomato sauce, garlic bread, lettuce-tomato salad, watermelon. Lil baked a blueberry pie. We dined in the grape arbor. A fine dinner. Boarded the CN train at 11:15 pm - & so on to Jasper Wed. Aug 24. What an awful ride. The train rolled & pitched & clattered all night. We had the last bedroom in the last car. Woke at 6 am to see the deep gully of the Fraser River & the deep green surge of its flow over white round boulders. Later, after breakfast- The land unfolded [[paper torn, text lost]] of brown-green forests, and [[paper torn, text lost]] panoramas. The wood was [[paper torn, text lost]] high dry summer. After [[paper torn, text lost]] some mountains loomed in the [[paper torn, text lost]] A stop was made for a viewing of Mt. Robson, highest in the Canada Rockies. But on other peaks, there was hardly a trace of snow. Arrived in Jasper (town) after 5 pm. Got an Avis car (Chevy II) & signed in at Tekarra Lodge [[paper torn, text lost]] disappointing a place - cabin [[paper torn, text lost]] crowded together [[paper torn, text lost]]

Did the best that I could but not sure what to do about the tears in the paper. I inserted a note in transcription indicating where the paper was torn and the text was lost.
