234 Mr. John Williams Agent, will proceed without delay from Durant to Grenada, Miss., and report to Captain W.G. Wedemeyer, 34th Infantry, Sub-Assistant Commissioner, Sub-District of Granada, for duty. The Disbursing Officer will furnish the necessary transportation. 9., H.A. Cooper, Clerk, is hereby relieved from duty at Panola Miss., and will proceed as early as practicable to Holly Springs, Miss., and report to Brevet Major John Power, Captain 34" Infantry, Sub-Assistant Commissioner, Sub-District of Holly Springs, for duty. The Disbursing Officer will furnish the necessary transportation. By order of Bvt. Maj. Gen'l. A.C. Gillem S C Greene Capt. 24th Inf. Bvt Maj. U.S.A. A.A.A. General. Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands. Office Assistant Commissioner for Miss. Vicksburg, Miss. June 24th 1868. Special Orders No. 108. 1. The Disbursing Officer will furnish transportation for Peter Ulrick, aged and destitute loyal refugee, from Meridian, Miss., to the Hospital at Vicksburg. 2. The Disbursing Officer will furnish transportation for Henry Brown, adult attendant, and Ann Coleman and Sibbie Weatherspoon, sick and destitute freedmen, from Lauderdale, to the Freedman's Hospital at Vicksburg, and return transportation for attendant. 3. Verbal instructions given the Acting Surgeon in Chief, Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, Miss., on the 17th day of April 1868 to purchase in open market Three hundred and four (304) Yards Brown Domestic, One hundred and thirteen and one half (113½) Yards Brown Linen, Four hundred seventeen and one fourth (417¼) yards Stripe Linen Three hundred and sixty seven and one fourth (367¼) Yards Plaid Linen 235 (amounting in the aggregate to three hundred and eight nine dollars and nineteen cents $389.19¢) for use of inmates of Freedman's Hospital are hereby confirmed. The property will be accounted for on returns of C.A. Foster, Acting Assistant Surgeon in charge of Freedmen's Hospital Vicsburg, Miss. By order of Bvt. Maj. Genl. A.C. Gillem Assistant Commissioner S.C. Emory Capt. 34th Inf., Bvt Maj. U.S.A. A.A.A. General Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands. Office Assistant Commissioner for Miss. Vicksburg, Miss., June 25th 1868. Special Orders No. 119 1. Lieut. H.R. Williams, 45th U.S. Infty., Assistant Inspector General Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, Miss,will proceed to Durant, Miss., and such other points as may be necessary to enable him to finally settle all complaints now pending against T.J. Ford, of Holmes County, Miss. Upon completion of this duty, Lieutenant Williams will return to his proper station. 2. C.A. Foster, Acting Assistant Surgeon, U.S.A., in charge of Freedmen's Hospital, Vicksburg, Miss. is hereby relieved from duty at his own request, he having become a candidate for office, and will report to the Acting Surgeon in Chief for cancellation of his contract. 3. E.A. Duncan, Acting Assistant Surgeon U.S.A. (in addition to his present duties as Acting Surgeon in Chief, Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, Miss.,) is hereby assigned to the charge of the Freedmen's Hospital in Vicksburg, Miss., vice Foster, relieved, and will receipt to Dr. Foster for all public property turned over by him.
