court, I had felt perfectly safe for a year past thinking I should not be troubled in my work which I was & am quietly pursuing, this was a rude awakening, I do not like it, when I was trying to buy a piece of land for a side for my school house Mr Harrow "did not wish it to be near his school for the students might make trouble & the influence would not be good, he thought to have a nigger school so near his". I said I could control my school, & I thought if each teacher did the same there would be no difficulty. He replied with the keenest of sarcasm "that perhaps he might take lessons in governing schools of Mrs Bonet". My school is on the opposite side of the town from his, must I be troubled
