166 167 Bureau R. F. & A. L. Office Ass't Com'r State of Georgia, Augusta, Ga. Feb'y 27th, 1866. Copy forwarded to Genl Howard March 1st 1866 J.M. Bryan. S.B. Pearce. M.J. Moody. Special Orders No. 38 1. In compliance with instructions from Maj. Genl. Howard, Com'r of Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, and of a Resolution of the State Convention of Georgia passed October 30th, 1865, the following named persons are appointed agents of the Bureau for the counties appearance their respect-ive names: J. M. Bryan Franklin Stephen B. Pearce Polk Manning J. Moody, Tattnall. 2. Colonel and Brevet Brigadier General James A. Hall, 2d Reg't U.S. Vet. Vols., having reported at this office in compliance with Special Orders No. 25, Current Series, War Dep't, A.S.A., is assigned to duty at Savannah, Ga. as A.S.A Com'r Bureau R.F.&A.L. for the District of Savannah. By Command of Brig. Gen. Tillson, W.W. Deane Capt. and A.A.G Copy forwarded to Genl Howard April 1st 1866 J.W. Staten. W.R.D. Moss. Maj. Wm Gray. Bureau R.F.&A.L. Office Ass't Com'r State of Georgia, Augusta, Ga. March 2d 1866. Special Orders No. 39 1. In compliance with instructions from Major General Howard, Com'r of Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, and of a Resolution of the State Convention of Georgia passed October 30th 1865, the following named persons are appointed agents of this Bureau for the Counties set opposite their respective names. James W. Staton, Echols, Warren R. D. Moss, Cherokee 2. Maj. William Gray, Inspector Bureau R.F.&A.L. for the State of Georgia, will proceed to Green, Morgan, and Putnam Counties, for the purpose of inspecting contracts made with freed people, and to transact other important business connected with the Bureau - on the completion of his duties, he will return by way of Macon and Atlanta, and report at this office. Davis Tillson Brig. Gen. Vols. & Ass't Com'r Copy forwarded to Genl Howard April 1st 1866 M. Graham. Lt. G.H. Pratt Bt. Brig. Gen. Hall. Capt. G.F. Crabtree. Bureau R.F.&A.L. Office Ass't Com'r State of Georgia. Augusta Ga. March 3d 1866. Special Orders No. 40. 1. In compliance with instructions from Maj. Gen. Howard, Com'r of Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, and of a resolution of the State Convention of Georgia passed October 30th 1865, M. Graham, of Coffee County, is appointed agent of the Bureau R.F.&A.L. for the County of Coffee, State of Georgia. 2. Lieut. G.H. Pratt, A.A.A.G., will proceed, with Maj. Wm Gray Inspector, to points on and near the Georgia R.R. and collect surplus hands, take them to Albany, Ga. and turn them over to Maj. Hastings, A.S.A Com'r at that point - Upon the completion of the duty assigned him, Lieut. Pratt will return and report at this office. 3. S.O. No. 38, C.S., from this office, is amended so as to assign Bvt. Brig. Gen. Hall to duty as A.S.A. Com'r District of Savannah, from Feb'y 22 1866 - on which date he reported for duty. 4. Capt. Geo. F. Crabtree, 2d V.R.C., having reported for duty in compliance with orders from Major General Howard Com'r, is assigned to duty at Savannah, and will report to Bvt. Brig. Gen. Hall, A.S.A.
