Va July 13th 1865 Applies for the removal of seventy negros from her Estate, stating that she can't support them Head Quarters Dept of Virginia Office of the Prov. Mar. Gen'l Richmond Va July 14/65 Respectfully forwarded to Brig. Genl. S.R. Hawley Chief of Staff Dept of Va. with the request that this matter may be referred to Br. Brig. Gen'l B.C. Ludlow. Comm'g Sub. Dist of the Penninsula The Prov. Marshal's Dept in that District is not organized and I therefore can not refer it The applicant has ninety negroes on her estate whom she cannot support, and wished to have seventy of them removed. Albert Ordway Lieut. Col. 24th Mass. Vols. Inf'y Provost Marsh. Gen'l. Head Quars. Dept. Va. Richmond Va. July 18/65 Respectfully referred to Col. O.Brown. Asst Commr.
