request, and informed him how to proceed in order to have the boy apprenticed to him. I have made inquiry into the facts of the case, and I am informed by reliable Citizens, that Mr Cocke is tyrannical in his disposition towards the boy, imposing on him severe tasks, and without supplying him with sufficient food and clothing. Upon examining the Records of the office, I find that the boy's name was forwarded to your office Dec 28th, 67 on an application made by Mr Chilton of Clinton, Miss. for an orphan child.
