On Friday Next, The 22d February—At the Northern-Liberty Auction-Store, Precisely at 9 o'Clock, in the Morning, Will begin the Sale of a Large and General Assortment of Merchandize: The stated Days of Sale are Mondays and Fridays. Houshold and Kitchen Furniture, and other out door Goods, will be received and sold every Monday Morning, and at no other time. Feb. 20 C. Febieer & Co. Auctioneers. To be SOLD, On Tuesday the 4th day of March next, at the house of Adam Reigart, in the borough of Lancaster, (the sale to begin at 10 o'clock in the forenoon of the same day, and to continue from day to day until sold) THE following described Messages, Lots of Ground, Mills and Plantations, in the borough and county of Lancaster, late the property of Matthias Slough. The one-half of the purchase money to be paid in three months, and the remainder in six months after the day of sale; security is to be given for the purchase money. NO 1. A three story brick messuage and lot or piece of ground situate in the said borough of Lancaster, adjoining lots of Joseph Simons and John Hubley, and fronting Queen-street and the Court-house square, being the same messuage wherein the said Matthias Slough now dwells. NO 2. A one story house and lot of ground in the borough aforesaid, containing in front on Prince street 64 feet 4 inches and an half, and in depth to a 14 feet alley 252 feet, bounded on the west by Prince street, on the north by a lot of Jasper Yeates, Esq; on the east by the said alley, and on the south by a lot formerly of Roger Conner; subject to a ground rent of shillings sterling per annum. NO 3. A lot of ground in the said borough, containing in front on Vine street 126 feet, and in depth 128 feet and nine inches, bounded by a 14 feet alley and lots of Ulrey Lambarder and John Blottenberger; subject to a ground rent of shillings sterling per annum. NO 4. A half lot of ground, adjoining the last above mentioned lot, containing in breadth on the said alley 64 feet 4 inches and an half and in length or depth 122 feet 6 inches, on which is erected a large one story limestone building, which is at present occupied as a school house. NO 5. A tract of land situate in Lancaster township, adjoining the said borough and Conestogoe Creek, containing 17 acres, 3 roods and 8 perches, about six acres whereof are excellent meadow; on which tract are erected a dwelling house, barn, and a large brick mill with one pair of burr millstones. NO 6. One lot of ground (called an out lot) adjoining the above mentioned mill tract, and an out lot of Michael Hubley, Esq; containing about 5 acres, subject to a ground rent of (Pounds sterling) 2 19 7 sterling per ann. NO 7. Two other out lots, near the said mill tract, containing 6 acres, 3 quarters, and 9 perches, subject to a ground rent of (Pounds sterling) 4 1 8 sterling per annum. No 8. Two tracts situate in Lancaster township aforesaid, containing 7 acres and 3 quarters, 4 acres and a quarter whereof are a part of Conestogoe Creek, on which is erected a large limestone merchant mill, with one pair of burr millstones. No 9. One tract of land adjoining said last mentioned mill, containing 50 acres, on which are erected a dwelling house, a very large new barn, and a limestone still house. No 10. A tract of land, containing 90 acres be the same more or less, situate in Lampeter township, adjoining Conestogoe Creek, opposite the said mill, about 20 acres whereof are cleared, the remainder being well stocked with timber. No 11. A tract of land situate in Martick township, containing 311 acres, adjoining lands belonging to Martick Forge. One other tract adjoining said forge lands, containing about 199 acres. One other tract adjoining said forge lands, containing about 200 acres, on which last tract are built a large stone barn and stables, and a quantity of meadow ready made. Also, Mr. Slough's share of Martick forge, slitting, rolling and saw mills, and the lands thereto belonging. Philadelphia, January 20, 1788. wsts To be Sold by Public Vendue, At the COFFEE-HOUSE, in the city of Philadelphia, On account of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, THE following Tracts of LAND, in Westmoreland county, viz. A tract containing 315 acres and allowance, on the heads of Two lick and Mahoning, in Armstrong township, adjoining lands now or late of Josiah Hewes and others. A tract containing 293 acres and a half, on the waters of Yellow Creek, adjoining lands now or late of Joseph Pemberton, in Wheatfield township. A tract containing 302 acres and three-quarters, on the waters of Yellow Creek, adjoining lands now or late of Joseph Redman, junior, in Wheatfield Township. A tract containing 316 acres, on the heads of a small creek running into Two-lick Creek, about twelve miles from Brackin's-mill, in Wheatfield township. A tract containing 357 acres and a quarter, adjoining the manor of Appleby and John Gould's claim, in Armstrong township. A tract containing 320 acres and an half, on Cowanshanick, adjoining John Goheen and John Tenney, in Armstrong township. An improvement right late of William Coxe, in Fairfield township. The sales will be held on Wednesday the 20th of March next, at 6 o'clock in the evening. The purchaser money to be paid within ten days after sale, in specie, or paper money of this state of the last emission; or in default thereof the premises to revert, and the bidder to sustain any loss which may arise on a second sale. For freight or passage apply to the master on board. 4sp Feb.19 For Savannah, (Georgia) The Sloop SPEEDWELL, GEORGE COOPER, Master; SHE is a good vessel, well found, and has good accommodations for passengers, and will sail on the 21st of this month. February 18 4sp All Kinds Of PUBLIC SECURITIES bought and sold, and the highest price given for PENNSYLVANIA LATE LOANED CERTIFICATES: discounts procured for approved BILLS and NOTES; Applications received for borrowing and lending money. Exchange made for gold, silver, Pennsylvania and Jersey money, to accommodate those who may want either, by Francis White, Chesnut Street, near the Bank. THE Committee for conducting the Business of the American Manufactures desires that the subscribers to the Manufacturing Fund will be pleased to pay in their Subscriptions to Mr. Joseph Hilborn, Treasurer to the Society. PHILADELPHIA, December 18, 1787. Notice is hereby given, to all person desirous of Contracting for opening and making good the Road lately surveyed from the Franktown branch of Juniatta, in Bedford country, to Conamaugh in the county of Weltmoreland, and from thence down the south side of the said river to the mouth of the Layalhennon, that Proposals for making that Road will be received at the Office aforesaid until the 1st day of April next. CHARLES BIDDLE, Sec'ry. This Road is to be 50 feet in width, except in such places as require digging, where it is to be only 12 feet. IawtIM Lands for Sale, In Tryon County, in the state of New York. A Patent, under the great seal of the (then) province of New York, bearing date the 3d of Feb. 1770, was granted unto Charles Read, Thomas Wharton, and others, for a Tract of Land, containing 69,000 acres, situate in (the then county of Albany, now) Tryon county; bounded southward and eastward partly by lands patented to colonel Staats Morris, to sir William Johnson and associates, to Arent Brandt and others, and by the river Susquehanna. The Ostego creek, issuing from the Ostego lake, passes through the middle of this tract. The said tract was divided into 65 lots, of which the following are now offered for sale, viz. Lot No. 10 containing 1000 acres [[two column table]] | 22 | 872 | | 24 | 1000 | | 32 | 285 | | 35 | 350 | | 48 | 1000 | [[/table]] Those who incline to purchase the whole, or either of those lots, may apply to the subscriber, who will shew them the plan of the whole tract divided into lots. From the date hereof, the fare will be-From New-York to Philadelphia, and from Philadelphia to New-York, three Spanish milled dollars ; and all way passengers four pence per mile; 150 wt. of baggage to be the same as a passenger,—— The drivers are prohibited on severe penalties from running their horses. Philadelphia, Feb. 11. 1788 To be Sold or Rented, A Compleat GRIST MILL, in an elegible situation for conducting the manufacture of flour on an extensive plan. The Mill is in compleat repair, and calculated for four pair of stones Possession can be given in a very short time. The payments to a purchaser will be made perfectly convenient Should a person inclined to rent, wish to have an increase of capital, he may be accommodated on proper terms. February 12 m&wts TO BE SOLD A Large Quantity of Masts, Spars, Square Timber, and Pine Scantling, at a convenient landing and safe harbour in the Chesapeake Bay, near to the Capes ; where the largest ships may load with the greatest facility. Terms of payment would be made easy. One or more ships would be loaded at a generous freight, payable in a proportion of the above Articles, on delivery thereof in approved ports in Europe. Apply to JOHN VAUGHAN, in Philadelphia, or to ANDREW VAN BIBBER, in Baltimore. N. B. Any of the abovementioned Articles would be prepared for shipment at a short notice, to any given dimensions, of the best timber. Jan. 22 mwsts Taunton Iron-Works FOR SALE. THE above Works are situate in Burlington county. West New-Jersey, distant 17 miles from Philadelphia and 8 from a navigable creek (Rancocas) leading to the same. The FURNACE has been in blast only a few weeks; has a considerable stock of coals and several hundred tons of ore at the works, with a sufficient quantity of ore raised to last the same eight or nine months, with every necessary article for continuing the blast. A FORGE adjoining the Furnace, with the fires in good working order, upon a fine stream of water, a Part of a Saw-Mill near the same. The Works are abundantly supplied with wood and ore, and so near that the teams deliver 3 and 4 loads of coals and ore per day, each; the expence of conveying iron to Philadelphia only 12s. per ton-Castings and bar iron well known to be equal to any at market, and the latter particularly well adapted to the making of steel. The above Works are offered to sale at a very low rate, and on terms of payment calculated for the ease of the purchaser, who may pay a considerable part in Pig or Bar Iron, Wet or Dry Goods; and the whole of the purchase will be much less than any thing of the kind now offered for sale For particulars apply at said Works, to GEORGE HASTINGS.
