Respectfully returned to Gen'l O. Brown, Asst. Comr. It does not appear that any provision has been made for the support of a teacher in the school house which it is proposed to erect, and I am not aware of any that can be made. We have already one school house standing unoccupied in Dinwiddie which the Bureau helped to build. The application is disapproved. (Sgd.) R.M. Manly Supt. Education Bu. R.F. & A.L. Hd. Qrs. Asst. The said Hix resides in Appomattox , Co. near Pamplin's Depot and I would respectfully recommend that he be compelled to show by what authority he acted as Agent of the Government in collecting and disposing of Govt. property as charged.
