State of Illinois Massac County On this day personally appeared before me a clerk of the circuit Court [[?]] and for said county Willis Jones who is well known to me to be respectable and entitled to full credit, and who being first duly sworn on his oath states that he is the same Willis Jones that was a private in Co "K" 16th U.S.CT. That after he was discharged from said Company and Regiment he delivered his discharge certificate to a claims agent in Nashville Tenn, That said claims agent gave him a receipt for said Discharge Certificate and that he then made application for his additional bounty. He also states that his satchel containing said receipt was stolen from him at {{?}} Ky, and that he has forgotten the
