Genl Martin Aug 8, 1873 and letter of notification Aug 11th 1873 Enlisted--Whe [[strikethrough]] n [[/strikethrough]] re Greenupsburg Whe [[strikethrough]] re [[/strikethrough]] n June by whom dont rememembr Period 3 years. Mustered--When three days after enlistment Where Greenupsburg By whom dont remember Description--Where born Bath Co. Age 28 years. Occupation Laborer Eyes Hair Brown Complexion Yellow Height 5 feet 9 inches. Discharged [[strikethrough]] or died [[/strikethrough]] at Nashville Tenn. on the dont remember day of dont remember 18 Commanding officer Capt Thomas Mason First Sergeant John Griffith David and Thomas Foster Enlisted about the same time and place. REMARKS. Sick at Nashville for a short leave in the latter part of the year in which I enlisted. Was tried by Court Martial and some pay stopped one pay day. Was the slave of Emily Brooks of Bath Co. Ky.
