Capt Jas McMillan 3d. Arty Captain; I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your registered letter of the 14th. Inst. Enclosed you will find receipt duly signed (in duplicate) bearing date March 17th., because Official notice was given by the First National Bank of this place, of the receipt of funds on that date, from the Treasurer of U.S. Very Respectfully Your Ob't Servant H S Hawkins Capt 6th. Inf. D.O. Nashville Tenn, March 22nd. 1876. Adjutant General U.S.A Sir; I have the honor to enclose herewith the following vouchers of approval of payment: T Keating Stuart for Services $125.00 Wm. Lytton for Services 40.00 Arrington, Farrar & Weakley for Rent 30.00 Very Respectfully Your Ob't Servant H S Hawkins Capt 6th. Inf. D.O. Nashville Tenn, March 22nd. 1876. Adjutant General U.S.A. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of a letter from Second Auditor's Office, with endorsement from Adjutant General's Office, dated March 16th. 1876 requesting to suspend payment of certificate 561184 issued April 16th. 1870 in favor of Sammie Douglas, brother of Anderson Douglas, private Co 1, 13th. Ward Sir: I have the honor to ask that transportation be furnished for myself and clerk from Nashville Tenn to Huntsville Ala, and return. A copy of letter from A.G. Nashville Tenn, March 31st. 1876 To the Honorable The Secretary of the Treasy Sir: I have the honor to transmit herewith Certif of Deposit No 9128, issued March 31st. 1876, in my favor, by the 1st. National Bank of Nashville Tenn for $634 81, the same being a repayment of Bounty, Arrears of pay &c as per Abstract. Very Respectfully Your Ob't Servant H S Hawkins Capt 6th. Inf. D.O. Nashville Tenn, Apl 1st 1876 Adj General U.S.A. Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt to day of letter from Adj General's Office dated March 30th. 1876, informing me that the Secretary of the Treasury had on March 20th directed the transfer of $10,000.00 from my credit with the Asst Treasurer of the United States at N. York to my credit with the First National Bank of Nashville Tenn. I immediately sent to ask the Cashier of First National Bank whether he had notice of such transfer. His answer is a certificate of transfer dated Mch 23d. 1876 which should have been furnished to this office last week, by consequence of his neglect, my Weekly
